Arsenal Star Earning £200k-a-week “Set to Leave” as Director Heads to UK for Talks

Arsenal is preparing for significant squad changes this summer, aiming to bolster the team as manager Mikel Arteta seeks to finally win the Premier League title after more than two decades.

The club is already on the verge of securing two signings: midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who finalized his move last week, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who recently underwent a medical.

Danish international midfielder Christian Norgaard is also expected to join Zubimendi and Kepa. The Brentford captain has received approval to move to Arsenal following an initial £10 million agreement between the clubs, potentially increasing by £5 million based on performance bonuses.

Furthermore, Arsenal is in advanced discussions for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera. It seems the significant efforts of new sporting director Andrea Berta are yielding results, with several transfer developments occurring recently.

While Norgaard`s arrival was somewhat unexpected, reports about the impending departure of £200,000-per-week midfielder Thomas Partey appear to have prompted Berta to quickly find a replacement for the Ghanaian player.

Last season was arguably the 32-year-old`s strongest at Arsenal, featuring in over 50 games and overcoming previous injury issues. This led the club to begin negotiations for a contract extension.

However, these talks did not result in an agreement, and Partey is now scheduled to depart the Emirates Stadium when his contract runs out on June 30.

So, what awaits the former Atletico Madrid midfielder next?

Fenerbahce Director Travels to UK for Partey Talks

Devin Ozek, Fenerbahce`s sporting director, is reportedly flying to the UK specifically to hold discussions with Partey.

Ozek is also planning to meet with Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi, who is expected to leave his club, regarding a potential move to the Turkish Super Lig. However, it is understood that Jose Mourinho has a particular desire to sign Partey, as the manager aims to build a squad that can compete with Galatasaray.

While Ndidi`s contract at Leicester runs until 2027, Partey`s availability as a free agent presents Fenerbahce with an excellent chance to add experienced and quality midfield talent to Mourinho`s team without incurring a transfer fee.

Although Fenerbahce`s proposed contract terms haven`t been fully disclosed, it will be interesting to see if they can match or come close to Partey`s current Arsenal salary, which expires very soon.
