Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has shared an update on the club’s current transfer market endeavors. This announcement comes as confirmation that the Catalan club is actively working on strengthening Hansi Flick’s squad for the 2026/27 season.
Deco recently traveled to London to initiate a new series of discussions regarding potential player acquisitions and sales. Among the prominent Premier League players linked with Barcelona in recent weeks is Chelsea forward João Pedro, who is being considered as a possible successor to the departing Robert Lewandowski.
Upon his return to Spain, Deco was questioned by the media about these developments. While he affirmed the club’s intention to “bring in players” in the coming weeks, he stated that specific names like João Pedro could not yet be publicly disclosed, as discussions with clubs are still pending. Deco commented, “We are working on it and we will bring in some players. Right now, we can’t say anything about João Pedro; we’re interested in several players. We still haven’t spoken with the clubs.”
