Barcelona chief provides Marcus Rashford future update

Football News

Barcelona President Joan Laporta has addressed the club’s intentions regarding Marcus Rashford’s future beyond the current season.

Forward Marcus Rashford is currently enjoying a successful loan spell in Barcelona. He joined from Manchester United last summer to bolster Hansi Flick’s attacking options.

Rashford has proven to be a valuable asset, filling in due to various injury issues among Barcelona’s forwards. The 28-year-old has contributed significantly, recording 23 goals (scoring or assisting) in 38 appearances to date.

His impressive performance has fueled speculation that the club aims to secure his services permanently. Recent remarks from re-elected Blaugrana president Joan Laporta suggest these speculations are well-founded.

When questioned about Rashford’s future after his loan concludes, Laporta stated in an interview with RAC1:

“We will strive, in Barcelona’s best interest, to ensure Marcus Rashford remains with us beyond this season. Marcus is performing exceptionally well with both assists and goals, and we are very pleased,” Laporta affirmed.
