Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly been left disappointed following the announcement of England’s latest national team squad. The Three Lions revealed a 35-man provisional panel of players this Friday for two upcoming World Cup warm-up fixtures.
Despite his recent recovery and return to good form, Alexander-Arnold, a key figure for Liverpool, was notably absent from the selection. This decision comes even as Chelsea’s Reece James is unavailable due to injury, leaving a potential gap at right-back. Instead, manager Gareth Southgate has reportedly opted for Djed Spence, Tino Livramento, and Jarell Quansah as his right-back options.
In contrast, Real Madrid’s midfield maestro Jude Bellingham has been included in the squad, even after recently recovering from an injury spell himself.
England is set to kick off their March international break with a friendly match against Uruguay next Friday, before closing things out against Japan four days later.
