Everton are making progress in their summer transfer activities and are reportedly ready to table an offer for a player who has caught their attention.
Everton Close to Making First Summer Signings
Following the departures of notable players such as Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Ashley Young this summer, Everton are nearing their first acquisitions of the transfer window.
Reports suggest that Villarreal striker Thierno Barry is set to join the Toffees for a fee around £30 million. Millwall forward Mihailo Ivanovic is also a potential recruit, pending an agreement for the Serbia international.
Defensively, free agent Nicolas Tagliafico, who left Lyon recently, is in advanced talks to sign with Everton. His arrival would provide competition for Vitaly Mykolenko without a significant expenditure from Sean Dyche`s budget.
Journalist Pete O`Rourke indicated that Ipswich Town midfielder Omari Hutchinson might be interested in moving to Everton after Ipswich`s relegation from the Premier League.
O`Rourke stated: “Privately, the player would love the chance to return to the Premier League. Ipswich, on the other hand, will be hoping to keep hold of him because he’d be a key man for them next season, as they try and win promotion back to the Premier League.”
He further added: “There will be Premier League clubs sitting up and taking notice of him, and we know that Everton are in the market for wingers.”
While a move for Hutchinson remains uncertain, Everton are also reportedly targeting a goalkeeper from the EFL this summer.
Everton Interested in Sheffield United Stopper Michael Cooper
According to reliable reporter Alan Nixon, Everton are interested in Sheffield United goalkeeper Michael Cooper following his strong performances for the Blades last season.
The Toffees are prepared to offer £5 million plus add-ons for the 25-year-old. However, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is seeking a higher fee, and Cooper is keen on receiving assurances of first-team football before agreeing to a move.
Everton might benefit from the fact that Cooper is represented by Unique Sports Group, the same agency as Everton`s Dwight McNeil and Lyon`s Jake O`Brien.

With Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia having departed, Jordan Pickford is currently the only senior goalkeeper at Finch Farm. Signing a keeper like Cooper, who recorded an impressive 79.6% save percentage in the Championship last season, would provide valuable cover and competition for the England international.
Sean Dyche is working on strengthening his squad as the club undergoes a rebuild, potentially under the new ownership of the Friedkin Group. Cooper appears to be a suitable target aligning with this phase.
