Manchester United is reportedly considering a future for Youri Tielemans following an impressive cameo performance against Paris Saint-Germain. This display has fueled speculation about his potential integration into the squad.

Following this, they will conclude their pre-season campaign against Amorim's new team, AC Milan, in Wroclaw on August 15th. It is in this match that Tielemans could potentially make his first appearance for Manchester United since December 2024, should the coaching staff deem him ready, as Wednesday's fixture might be too soon.

There is a sentiment that Steve McClaren, who has a history with Tielemans as a former teammate, coach, and manager, is the ideal person to mend the relationship between the club and the player. This also extends to Tielemans reclaiming his number 10 shirt, which was given to Matheus Cunha. Cunha is also expected to be part of the squad's trip, having missed the Gothenburg match due to a minor injury.

McClaren commented on their shared history, stating, "I've played with him. I played in the game he made his debut, so we have a history." He added, "We have got a full squad this week in Dublin. We fly straight there and have a few days where we have the whole group back together. Marcus is part of that, and Kobbie [Mainoo] and Lisandro [Martinez]. We look forward to seeing them."
