Former Lazio Falconer Finally Evicted Months After Scandal

Football News

Lazio football club has confirmed the formal eviction of their former falconer, Juan Bernabe. He had been residing at the club`s training facility despite being terminated in January following the online publication of explicit personal images.

Bernabe`s social media activity included sharing graphic photos and videos related to his penile implant, which led to his dismissal. In a statement from January, Lazio expressed their “shock” regarding the “photographic and video images” and accompanying statements from Mr. Bernabe.

Shortly after his firing, the ex-falconer reportedly barricaded himself at the training facility, asserting his right to remain at Formello based on a medical recovery certificate that expired in February. It`s also recalled that Lazio had previously suspended Bernabe in 2021 for being recorded voicing support for Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

Six months later, Lazio announced that an official eviction order was issued, requiring Bernabe to vacate the training grounds.

A statement from S.S. Lazio detailed that the eviction of Juan Bernabe, who had been “occupying accommodation within the Formello sports center without title,” was performed that morning following an order from the Tivoli Court Judge. The club reiterated that this action stemmed from the contract termination months prior due to his conduct being deemed “incompatible with the club`s ethical values.”

The club has not yet hired a new falconer, and the customary pre-match eagle flight at the Stadio Olimpico has not occurred since the incident. Turning to the team`s performance, Lazio finished the recent season in seventh place, failing to qualify for European competition in 2025-26. The club has also experienced coaching changes, with Marco Baroni leaving and Maurizio Sarri returning for a second spell after his initial departure.
