Celta Vigo has issued an encouraging update regarding the condition of their prominent goalkeeper, Ionuț Radu.
The news alleviates previous concerns, confirming that the injury is not serious. Radu, 28, played for Celta Vigo against Deportivo Alavés this past weekend, a match that ended in a 4-3 defeat. During the game, he sustained a calf injury, which led to immediate worries among fans about a potential extended period on the sidelines.
However, Celta Vigo officially clarified the situation on Tuesday, putting those fears to rest. According to a statement released on the club’s official social media channels, the Romanian goalkeeper has a calf contusion, but crucially, there is no evidence of muscle injury. All structural damage has been ruled out.
Furthermore, the club confirmed that Radu will be able to join the Romanian national team, wishing him good luck.
