VfB Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling (25) is back in training and might be available for this weekend’s critical Bundesliga encounter against Borussia Dortmund. The German attacker had been sidelined with a calf injury, causing him to miss VfB’s previous match and subsequent international fixtures with Germany.
During Thursday’s press conference, head coach Sebastian Hoeneß confirmed Leweling’s participation in training. Hoeneß stated, “He trained fully again yesterday. We tested him the day before, and everything went well; his calf is holding up,” regarding the player’s readiness for Saturday’s match.
While Leweling, credited with seven goals and six assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances this season, could potentially play against Dortmund, Hoeneß stressed a cautious approach to integrating the forward back into competitive play.
Hoeneß further commented, “I will continue to observe him over the next two days.” He also acknowledged Leweling’s resilience, adding, “Jamie is, of course, always someone you can throw back into the game relatively quickly.”
