Jude Bellingham Expresses Pride Over Jobe’s Dortmund Move

Bundesliga News

Jude Bellingham, the prominent Real Madrid midfielder, expressed his immense pride in his brother Jobe for upholding the family legacy by joining Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking before the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final in the USA (where Jobe was suspended for Dortmund), Jude commented on his younger brother following his path by wearing the iconic BVB Black and Yellow jersey. The former Dortmund fan favourite stated, “It`s beautiful, truly; I am genuinely happy for my brother.”

Jude added, “He had various options to consider, but looking back now, I am truly pleased with the choice he made.”

The 19-year-old Jobe moved to Germany after helping Sunderland secure promotion to the English Premier League. His transfer to Signal Iduna Park echoes Jude`s own move from Birmingham City in July 2020. Jude, during his time at Dortmund, made 132 appearances, netted 24 goals, and lifted the DFB Cup before his departure for Spain.

Reflecting on his own tenure in the Bundesliga with BVB, Bellingham expressed confidence that Jobe is in good hands and poised for a remarkable journey. Jude commented, “I`m certain the people and fans at Dortmund will take care of him and offer their support, and I know he will perform well. I am incredibly proud that this chapter at Dortmund is continuing for my family.”

Shifting the focus specifically to Jobe and the start of his Dortmund career, Jude stated, “It`s important to recognise that this is his story now. I had fantastic and memorable experiences at Dortmund, but at this moment, it`s entirely about him, and I couldn`t be prouder.”

A potential first competitive match between the Bellingham siblings was prevented when Jobe received a second yellow card during Dortmund`s Club World Cup Round of 16 victory over Monterrey. However, the 22-year-old Jude believes future encounters are likely. He remarked, “Hopefully, at some point down the line, we`ll have another opportunity to play and face off against each other. That would be a special occasion for our family.”
