Man City Boss Maresca Addresses Barcelona's Interest in Rodri
Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca recently shared his thoughts on the future of midfield star Rodri, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
Discussions are reportedly underway between Manchester City and Barcelona regarding a potential transfer for the former Ballon d'Or contender. Rodri is said to have already agreed to personal terms with Barcelona, having reportedly turned down rivals Real Madrid to join Hansi Flick's squad.
With Rodri's contract in Manchester set to expire in the summer of 2027, Barcelona's sporting director Deco and his team are aiming to negotiate a favorable transfer fee while meeting Manchester City's valuation.
Although an agreement has not yet been reached, there is a strong expectation that Barcelona will ultimately secure Rodri's signature.
During a press conference on Friday, Maresca was asked about his key midfielder. The Italian coach stated:
"The transfer window is open... we can buy players, we can sell, anything can happen. I've just seen Rodri. I gave him a big hug. He looks good. We'll see what happens!"
