Alexander-Arnold has recently made significant progress in regaining both his fitness and form, re-establishing himself as a crucial defensive player under new Blancos boss Álvaro Arbeloa. However, Tuchel instead opted for a trio of right-backs consisting of Djed Spence, Tino Livramento, and Jarell Quansah. When pressed by the media about Alexander-Arnold's notable absence, Tuchel explained: "I know what Trent can offer us, and we decided to stick with our players. I am aware of his strengths; he is a huge player, but ultimately, it's a sporting decision. We are sticking with Quansah, Spence, and Livramento."
