Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal shed light on his seemingly somber demeanor during recent Spanish national team training sessions.
The young talent had recently garnered significant media attention in Spain.
Yamal, who plays as a winger, was brought on as a second-half substitute last Monday when Spain was held to a disappointing draw against Cabo Verde in their opening World Cup match.
Following the game, there was widespread speculation that the 18-year-old was unhappy with his role in the fixture, believing he was fit and ready to start after a recent period of being sidelined.
When Yamal was observed looking downcast and unwell during Friday’s training, rumors about potential dissatisfaction quickly spread.
However, the actual reason behind his expression is far less serious and, in fact, quite humorous.
Addressing his training ground appearance during a media interaction over the weekend, Yamal explained:
“My serious mood in training yesterday? I played video games all night! I was just feeling sleepy (laughs).”
