Javier Tebas, the outspoken president of the Spanish League (La Liga), has offered a candid assessment of the current state of French football, characterizing its struggles as a “global crisis.” He underscored the critical importance of a robust French league for the health of the broader European football landscape.
“A strong French league would be beneficial for the entire ecosystem,” Tebas stated, before expressing his disappointment, “That is currently not the situation.” His remarks imply a direct challenge to the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and suggest an urgent necessity for significant internal reforms to strengthen the league.
