Luis García Takes the Helm at RCD Mallorca

Football News

RCD Mallorca has officially announced the appointment of their new manager. The club has selected Luis García to lead the team into a new chapter.

The search for a new tactician became urgent after Martín Demichelis unexpectedly departed from his coaching role, despite recently signing a contract extension. Demichelis has since been confirmed as the new head coach for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.

Mallorca, facing the challenge of a recent relegation to the second tier of Spanish football, needed to find a new manager for the upcoming 2026/27 season. The club confirmed the decision on Monday.

According to an official statement released by Mallorca on their website and social media platforms, “Luis García Fernández (born February 6, 1981, in Oviedo) is the new manager of RCD Mallorca. He has agreed to a contract until June 2027, with the option for an additional year.”

Luis García spent the previous season managing Las Palmas in La Liga 2.
