Manchester United appear to be closing in on their second major summer signing, following the acquisition of Matheus Cunha.

Manchester United Eyeing More Offensive Additions Post-Cunha Deal

Both the club, known as the Red Devils, and INEOS got a head start on their summer transfer activity by bringing in Matheus Cunha.

The club exercised the Brazilian`s £62.5 million release clause to sign him from Wolves. Upon joining Manchester United, Cunha commented:

“It’s difficult to express my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player. Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt. I want to thank my family and everyone who helped make that dream a reality.
“I can’t wait for pre-season to start, to meet my teammates and prepare for the upcoming season. My full focus is now on working hard, becoming a valuable team member, and helping this club return to the top.”

Under Ruben Amorim, Cunha might be deployed in one of the two attacking midfield roles behind a central striker in a 3-4-2-1 formation, indicating that boosting the team`s attacking options remains a priority at Old Trafford.

In their pursuit of a central forward, Manchester United have been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt`s Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

Separately, Bryan Mbeumo, the versatile Brentford attacker who has been a target for several weeks, is another player Manchester United is pursuing. Although Spurs and their new manager Thomas Frank have shown interest, it is Manchester United who reportedly secured a verbal agreement to sign the Cameroon international.

INEOS is understood to have prepared a significant contract offer worth £13 million per year for the forward, equivalent to £250,000 per week, to persuade him to join Manchester. A recent update suggests progress, which will be welcomed by many United fans.

Reports Indicate Manchester United are now `Very Close` to Completing the Mbeumo Transfer
