Bayern Munich has officially confirmed that German international Jamal Musiala will wear the coveted number 10 shirt for the club starting from the 2025/26 campaign.
The young midfielder will inherit this legendary squad number following the departure of Leroy Sané, who left Bayern for Galatasaray on July 1st after spending five seasons with the Bavarian giants.
Since making his senior debut in the 2019/20 season, the 22-year-old Musiala has worn the number 42 shirt. Current regulations do not permit changes to squad numbers during the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup, so he will continue to feature in his current number until the tournament concludes. The transition to the number 10 will commence at the beginning of the next season (2025/26).
In celebration of this significant number change, Bayern announced a special promotion for fans. Supporters purchasing a 2025/26 season jersey online or in official Bayern stores on July 1st and 2nd will receive complimentary printing of Musiala`s new number.
