Nottingham Forest register interest to sign £50m+ Champions League forward

Football News

According to a report, Nottingham Forest have now expressed interest in signing a forward from a Champions League club, with contact possibly already made regarding a potential deal.

Nottingham Forest Considering New Winger Amid Interest in Hudson-Odoi and Elanga

While Forest did not ultimately qualify for next season`s Champions League, there is much to be proud of from the 2024-25 season. A significant part of their success can be attributed to the performances of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.

Elanga was particularly impressive throughout the campaign, contributing six goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances for the Tricky Trees, helping the team secure a seventh-place finish.

However, both the Swedish forward (Elanga) and Hudson-Odoi could potentially attract interest during the summer transfer window. Chelsea were mentioned as possible suitors for Elanga last month, while Manchester United are reportedly planning a move for the Englishman.

Perhaps prompted by concerns about potentially losing one of their key players, Nuno Espirito Santo`s side appears to be accelerating their search for a new winger. They have already made an enquiry this week about a possible summer deal for SC Freiburg`s Ritsu Doan.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Nottingham Forest have also registered their interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Lee Kang-In, amid uncertainty surrounding the South Korean`s future at the Parc des Princes.

While the Tricky Trees may have initiated contact regarding a deal for the forward, they are expected to face competition for his signature from clubs including Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa.

Manchester United have also reportedly made a move for the 24-year-old, as discussions over a new contract to stay at PSG have stalled. Previous reports suggested the French club could demand £51m.

Lee Kang-In Potential `Outstanding` Addition for Forest

PSG are set to play in the Champions League final this weekend against Inter Milan and recently won the Ligue 1 title by a large margin. The South Korea international was a regular participant throughout their successful league campaign.

The report indicates that Lee Kang-In is keen on securing regular first-team football. Therefore, a transfer to the City Ground this summer could be appealing, especially considering Nottingham Forest will be participating in European competition next season.
