La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid is anticipating another significant financial uplift.
This comes as defender Mario Gila is reportedly close to moving from Lazio to Serie A rivals Napoli.
Gila, having completed another strong individual season with Lazio, has reportedly agreed to join Massimiliano Allegri’s team for a transfer fee of €15 million.
However, the financial gains from this deal will extend beyond the boardroom at Napoli; Real Madrid’s hierarchy, led by Florentino Pérez, is also set to benefit.
Gila previously spent four years developing at Real Madrid’s academy, making a couple of appearances for the senior team.
As part of the agreement that saw the Spaniard move to Italy, Real Madrid secured a 50% sell-on clause for any future transfer.
According to a report from COPE, this clause means a €7.5 million cash injection is now imminent for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
