Serge Gnabry’s Injury Could Keep Him Out Until the 2026 World Cup

Bundesliga News

Reports indicate that Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry’s injury is so severe that it may prevent him from participating in the upcoming World Cup.

The German club recently announced that Gnabry sustained an adductor injury during their Champions League match on Wednesday. While Bayern Munich has not yet officially confirmed the full extent of his thigh problems, a German publication claims Gnabry has suffered a torn adductor muscle, which is expected to sideline him for three months.

This recovery period would mean the end of his season and, crucially, a potential absence from the World Cup for the in-form German international. National team coach Julian Nagelsmann will now need to find a replacement for the attacking midfield role in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

Jamal Musiala: A Potential Replacement?

Despite not being selected for the recent international break in March, 23-year-old Jamal Musiala has expressed his readiness and desire to represent Germany at the tournament.

Nagelsmann emphasized that “all players, including Jamal, must be 100 percent fit” to be considered for his preliminary squad, which is set to be announced on May 12th.
