Jordan Holsgrove Not a Werder Bremen Target, but Other Bundesliga Clubs Show Interest

Contrary to earlier reports, the fan-site Deichstube indicates that Scottish midfielder Jordan Holsgrove is not a serious prospect for Werder Bremen. Nevertheless, the Estoril player might still be on the move to another club in the Bundesliga. Reports from Portugal's Record suggest that both Hamburg and Augsburg have expressed interest.

The Deichstube report clarifies that the transfer link, initially mentioned by Britain's Telegraph, is unlikely to materialize. Werder Bremen continues to actively scout for potential midfielders to replace their leading goalscorer, Jens Stage, who is rumored to be considering a move to Hoffenheim. The same outlet reiterates that Mattias Svanberg, from the relegated Wolfsburg, remains the most prominent candidate to fill Stage's potential departure.

It's important to note that Holsgrove, a defensive midfielder, does not align with Jens Stage's playing profile.

Jordan Holsgrove's Bundesliga Prospects Remain Open

Estoril is reportedly seeking approximately €3.5 million for Holsgrove. The midfielder is under contract until June 2028, and his market valuation stands at €5 million. This relatively accessible transfer fee could make him an appealing option for several Bundesliga teams. It should be noted, however, that Augsburg already possesses a strong contingent of defensive midfielders, and Hamburg also has multiple players available for that position.

It is anticipated that further rumors regarding Holsgrove's future will emerge in the coming weeks.

The reported interest from HSV and FCA might lack significant substance.
