Schalke 04 Closes In on Loan Deals for Bundesliga Veterans Felix Uduokhai and Jesper Lindstrøm

Reports from reliable sources indicate that newly promoted Bundesliga club Schalke 04 is advancing in its pursuit of defender Jesper Lindstrøm and Felix Uduokhai. The club, led by Frank Baumann and its administrative team, has already strengthened its roster this summer with two experienced Bundesliga players: goalkeeper Kevin Müller (from Heidenheim) and striker Junior Adamu (from Freiburg).

Additionally, Robin Gosens, a local talent who previously played for Union Berlin, has joined the club he once dreamed of playing for as a child. With Lindstrøm and Uduokhai, Schalke hopes to secure two more proven Bundesliga talents. Combined, these players bring a wealth of experience with 220 Bundesliga appearances between them.

Schalke Working on Loan Deal for Felix Uduokhai

Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri reports that Schalke has initiated contact with Beşiktaş to discuss the possibility of acquiring Uduokhai on a loan deal with an option to buy. The 28-year-old defender has been playing in Turkey for the past two seasons, having left his long-term club Augsburg at the start of the 2024/25 campaign. Following a successful one-year loan spell in Istanbul, Uduokhai joined Beşiktaş permanently ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Having experienced significantly less playing time last year, Uduokhai is reportedly keen on a move back to his home country. The estimated market value of the former Germany U21 international and Olympic representative has fallen from €8 million to €3.5 million over the last 18 months. The versatile defender is almost certain to receive regular playing time in Gelsenkirchen.

Napoli Eager to Offload Jesper Lindstrøm

Lindstrøm spent last season on loan at the relegated Wolfsburg and was widely considered one of the biggest disappointments, if not the biggest, of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. However, the Danish player's past dazzling performances for Eintracht Frankfurt are not forgotten, and Schalke remains eager to give the 26-year-old another opportunity.

Kicker and the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung report that Schalke and Napoli are close to finalizing a deal involving a loan with an obligatory purchase clause tied to a low number of appearances. Such an arrangement would be highly beneficial for all parties involved.
