La Liga champions Barcelona are reportedly exploring the possibility of including a player in their deal for Manchester City star Rodri. This potential player exchange could help lower the financial outlay for the Catalan club, according to insights from Mundo Deportivo.

The midfielder, Rodri, is widely expected to move to Barcelona before the summer concludes. After the 30-year-year-old expressed his strong preference for joining Hansi Flick's Barcelona over rivals Real Madrid, the club quickly reached an agreement on personal terms with the player.

Subsequently, negotiations have commenced with Manchester City's management. Barcelona's initial offer was reportedly rejected by Man City, who indicated that their demands are significantly higher. However, recent discussions between the two clubs are understood to have brought them considerably closer to a final agreement.

Mundo Deportivo has shed light on how the transfer could be finalized: "Talks are in their final stages. The deal involves a fixed fee of around €55 million plus add-ons, which could be offset by a player from the Barcelona squad."

At present, the specific Barcelona player who might be part of the deal remains undisclosed.
