Valencia has hit a roadblock in its search for a new manager. Ernesto Valverde has rejected the opportunity to lead the team.

The club experienced significant upheaval this past weekend. Following a five-match winless streak that placed Los Che at the bottom of the La Liga standings, ownership dismissed manager Carlos Corberán and his staff, along with CEO Ron Gourlay and his management team.

Braulio Vázquez was swiftly appointed as the new sporting director, joining from La Liga competitor Osasuna. Vázquez's immediate priority was finding a successor for Corberán. Ernesto Valverde emerged as a prime candidate.

However, Valverde communicated his decision on Monday, declining Valencia's proposal. COPE reported: "Valverde says NO. According to COPE, Ernesto Valverde has declined the option to come to Valencia. He has rejected important projects in Europe because he wants to continue without coaching for the moment."
