Controversy arose around Kylian Mbappé's knee injury, which began bothering him back in December. While the player himself denied claims that initial tests were conducted on the incorrect knee, he openly expressed his "frustration, anger, and worry" over the prolonged issue. It wasn't until March, after receiving treatment in Paris earlier in the month, that his condition reportedly improved. Following this resolution, Mbappé reportedly informed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that he would no longer rely on the club's medical staff, choosing instead to be treated by Christophe Baudot, a specialist he knew from his time at PSG. This decision highlights a broader, long-standing issue of player distrust in Real Madrid's medical department, which has reportedly been a concern for several years.
A similar diagnostic error reportedly occurred with Eduardo Camavinga. In early December, Camavinga sustained an ankle injury, but an MRI was allegedly performed on the wrong leg. This misdiagnosis led to him being cleared to return to the bench shortly after, only to be subsequently ruled out for an additional two weeks once the error was identified.
