Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has recently voiced his strong support for his French national team colleague and attacking partner, Kylian Mbappé.
This comes in the wake of a season where Mbappé faced considerable and persistent criticism.
Individually, Mbappé had another stellar campaign during the 2025/26 season, achieving 49 direct goal contributions in 44 appearances.
However, the collective struggles of Real Madrid often led to blame being frequently directed at the 27-year-old attacker.
A late-season vacation taken by Mbappé even sparked widespread calls for his sale, citing an alleged lack of commitment to the club in the Spanish capital.
As mentioned, Ousmane Dembélé, the current Ballon d’Or holder, believes that the condemnation of his compatriot has gone too far.
Fresh off securing his second consecutive Champions League title with Paris Saint-Germain, Dembélé was asked about the numerous critics of Mbappé.

“There’s too much criticism directed at Kylian. Mbappé is incredible, a top player, and a great person off the pitch. People shouldn’t be so aggressive towards him.
They criticize Kylian for everything he does. That’s far too much.”
