Barcelona Star Iñaki Peña Set for Cut-Price Transfer to Panathinaikos

Barcelona’s Iñaki Peña is on the brink of a permanent departure from the club. Reports indicate that the goalkeeper is poised to sign with Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos.

Peña is returning from a loan spell after being informed that he was not part of Barcelona manager Hansi Flick’s plans. The 27-year-old spent last season on a 12-month loan with La Liga rivals Elche.

During his 16 appearances in Spain’s top flight, Peña apparently made a strong impression on the leadership at Panathinaikos.

According to journalist Juli Claramunt of Jijantes, Iñaki Peña is just one step away from joining Panathinaikos FC. The goalkeeper was eager to finalize his future promptly and is expected to leave Barcelona for less than €3 million.
