A former midfield player for La Liga giants Real Madrid is reportedly on the verge of returning to the club this summer, albeit in a new capacity.
It is understood that Sami Khedira has agreed to become part of José Mourinho’s coaching team in the Spanish capital.
Mourinho was recently appointed as the manager tasked with leading Real Madrid into a new era. The Portuguese tactician has already begun bolstering his squad, following a reported deal for Marc Cucurella on Sunday.
Furthermore, ‘Mou’ is actively working to assemble the staff that will support him on the touchline at the Santiago Bernabéu next season.
According to a report from The Athletic:
‘Former Germany international Sami Khedira is expected to join José Mourinho’s coaching staff at Real Madrid.’
Khedira, a midfielder, previously played under the guidance of the renowned Portuguese manager at Madrid from 2010 to 2013. The specific role Khedira will undertake on Mourinho’s staff remains undisclosed at this time.
