According to reliable reports, German club RB Leipzig has lodged a formal bid of €24 million for Burnley’s French defender, Maxime Estève. Discussions are currently underway between the Bundesliga side and their English counterparts regarding the potential transfer of the 24-year-old centre-back.
RB Leipzig is reportedly anticipating the potential departures of Castello Lukeba and/or El Chadaille Bitshiabu. However, as of now, there have been no concrete offers or significant interest expressed for either of these players. Consequently, any move for Estève is currently contingent on developments concerning Lukeba and Bitshiabu’s futures. If neither player indicates an intention to leave, the pursuit of Estève may be put on hold.
Maxime Estève was a consistent presence in Burnley’s starting lineup during the 2025/26 season, featuring in a total of 34 Premier League matches. Despite Burnley’s relegation from the top flight, Estève’s performances at the back were a notable highlight. The defender, who was acquired from Montpellier for €12 million, is understood to have no objections to agreeing personal terms for a potential move.
