Bayern Munich's sporting director, Max Eberl, is reportedly nearing a contract extension with the club, as reported by Sport Bild. The 52-year-old was reportedly informed of this development during the team's recent tour of Asia.

Despite the positive indications, the club's supervisory board has not yet made a definitive decision. The board is scheduled to convene next on August 25th to discuss the matter further. Uli Hoeneß, the honorary president and a member of the supervisory board, has expressed strong confidence, stating the likelihood of Eberl's contract renewal as "100 percent."

Hoeneß also commended Eberl's performance, describing the recent transfer window as "a perfect transfer period." This summer, Bayern secured the signings of German full-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt and Moroccan attacker Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven.

Eberl's current contract is set to conclude in the summer of 2027, which coincides with the expiration of CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen's contract. Dreesen is also widely expected to remain with the record German champions.
