1win CS2 Team Earns $100,000 Bonus After Upsetting Team Spirit
The 1win Counter-Strike 2 team defeated the world's top squad, Team Spirit, with a 2-0 scoreline. This victory secured 1win a spot in the playoffs at Spodek Arena. Following this historic win, 1win's owner awarded the team an additional $100,000 bonus.
This outcome caps a strong group stage performance for 1win. After an initial loss to Vitality, the team rallied, winning three consecutive series against G2, Legacy, and Spirit. They finished the group stage with a 3-1 record, qualifying for the playoffs.
The win also elevated 1win to 14th place in Valve's regional rankings, significantly boosting the organization's standing in the race for the upcoming Singapore Major.
1win's owner commented on the result, referencing changes made to the organization's esports division just three months prior.
"Today, our 1win team beat the world's best team, Team Spirit, 2-0 in CS2 and entered the global top 14. Exactly three months ago, we decided to change our approach to the esports division, and the results followed swiftly. The team will receive a $100,000 bonus from me for such a performance," the 1win owner stated on his official Telegram channel.
Nafany, the captain of the 1win team, added after the match, "Learning about this $100,000 bonus after such a win feels incredible. We knew how important this match was and truly wanted to show what we're capable of. Beating this team, reaching the playoffs, and receiving such support from the 1win owner makes this moment even more special. But we still have things to prove; the playoffs are coming."
1win will continue their ESL Pro League Season 24 campaign in the playoffs at Spodek Arena in Katowice.
