Real Madrid Star Cucurella Sent Private Message to Barcelona's Rodri
Marc Cucurella, a Real Madrid player, admitted this week that he sent a personal message to his compatriot Rodri before the midfielder finalized his move to Barcelona.
Rodri was a key target for both of Spain's top clubs last summer. After deciding to leave Manchester City, the 30-year-old midfielder was pursued by both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Ultimately, Rodri chose Barcelona based on personal preference.
However, before the decision was made public, Rodri received a message from one of Real Madrid's new signings.
Speaking on El Larguero, Cucurella shared:
"I sent him a subtle message before his decision was known. I would have liked him to be my teammate at Real Madrid."
